Family Friendly Project

Supporting family friendly employers

Grandparents Plus is part of the Family Friendly scheme, which works with businesses and public services to make the UK a more family friendly place. The scheme is run by the Family and Parenting Institute.

To show its commitment to families, every organisation taking part in the scheme makes the universal Family Friendly pledge. Family Friendly then offers a comprehensive framework – tailored to the needs of your organisation – for putting the pledge into action.

This includes:
Web hub: This website gives families at-a-glance information about local services and businesses that have signed the Family friendly pledge. You’ll have your own page where you can make a public declaration to become more family friendly, keep customers updated on progress, upload photos and information, and discover what customers want with our moderated feedback area.

Publicity: The instantly recognisable Family Friendly mark – a sign of organisations that put families at the heart of all that they do – will be licensed for you to use on documents, the web and stationery. Plus, you can use our other signposting materials across your premises.

Training: The downloadable Family Friendly resources have been researched and created by experts, for you and your employees. With topics focusing on your customers, services and staff, they offer a comprehensive route to becoming family friendly.

Awards: Open to all members, the Family Friendly Awards recognise those organisations that offer outstanding services for families. The reward? Nationwide publicity.
