Please find below information of local support groups around the country for grandparents who have lost contact with their grandchildren. Please note that those not named as Grandparents Plus groups are  run independently of Grandparents Plus.

EAST MIDLANDS

      • Granpart Contact Group, Northampton- This is a self-help support group for grandparents that have little or no contact with their grandchildren. WEST MIDLANDS

      • The Severn and Stour Grandparents Support Group, Kidderminster – Grandparents Plus groupSupporting grandparents who have lost contact with their grandchildren. There are regular visits by a solicitor and consultancy firm. Meetings take place in Kidderminster on the last Tuesday of the month.       • The Grandparents Support Group – Grandparents Plus groupThe group is for grandparents who have lost contact with their grandchildren. It is run by Hannah who is a family solicitor. NORTH WEST

      • Merseyside And West Cheshire Support Group. The group is for grandparents unable to maintain relationships with their grandchildren, as a result of parental relationship breakdown or for other reasons. We may be able to arrange pickups from the local train station if needed. NORTH EAST

      • Durham Christian Partnership Support Group. This group is for grandparents who have lost contact with their grandchildren. Meetings take place at St Nickolas Church, Durham City.       • Stand Alone Therapeutic Support Group, Newcastle upon Tyne. Family estrangement can be difficult to talk about and many who have become estranged or disowned choose to conceal their experience from others. We offer a non-judgmental space to share thoughts and feelings with others in a similar position within our specialised support group. Themes such as The Living Loss, Trusting other people and Reconciliation will be explored. Supported by Big Lottery Fund, there is a one-off payment of £15 to enrol for 6 monthly sessions, refundable to those in receipt of state benefits. Family estrangement can be difficult to talk about and many who have become estranged or disowned choose to conceal their experience from others. We offer a non-judgmental space to share thoughts and feelings with others in a similar position within our specialised support group. Themes such as The Living Loss, Trusting other people and Reconciliation will be explored. Supported by Big Lottery Fund, there is a one-off payment of £15 to enrol for 6 monthly sessions, refundable to those in receipt of state benefits.
