Statistics and Polling

Statistics

Grandparents Plus works with partners to commission research and improve the evidence base on the role of grandparents and the wider family.  You can download a summary of current statistics on grandparents via the link below.

Polling

In February 2010 Grandparents Plus commissioned YouGov to carry out an online survey of 1103 grandparents to find out their views on flexible working, grandparental leave and rewarding grandparents who provide significant periods of childcare through tax credits or childcare vouchers. You can download a copy of the poll findings below.

Briefing Papers

In February 2011 Grandparents Plus published the first in a series of policy briefing papers exploring the reasons why grandparents and family and friends carers step in to care for children. Focusing on the most common cause, parental drug and alcohol misuse, the briefing reveals new analysis of 2010 survey data.   You can download a copy of the briefing paper below.  The briefings will be published to coincide with a series of seminars hosted by the charity over the coming year. See our events page for more details.
