Professor Ann Buchanan is currently Senior Research Associate and Emeritus Professor of Social Work at the Department of Social Policy and Intervention, University of Oxford. She was formerly Director of the Centre for Research into Parenting and Children and for more than twenty years undertook research on children’s wellbeing, fathering, children involved in divorce, and grandparenting. In recent years she has been involved in advising government family policy forums. She was on the council of the ESRC from 2007-13 and The Council of the National Academy of Social Sciences 2011-2017. Ann was awarded an MBE in 2012 for services to social services and a Honorary Doctorate from the University of Bath in 2013. She continues to write and publish extensively and in June 2018 will be going to South Korea to give a keynote speech.
