Communications Team
Peter Taylor, digital content officer
“Having worked with kinship families in all my charity roles it’s wonderful to be able to focus fully on raising awareness and supporting families through digital innovation.” read Peter’s full bio
Hi, my name is Peter Taylor and I am the digital content officer for Grandparents Plus. I am responsible for developing our new digital hub. I also create content for our website, as well as assets and resources for the wider communications team.
I have worked in the charity and education sectors for 12 years. I graduated from university with a BA in graphic and interactive design. After graduation, I started my journey as a youth worker and developed my skills to become a family support worker for Action for Children. Once I had gained experience working on the ‘front line’ I returned to my design and communications roots working as communications manager for Beyond Words, a charity supporting people with learning disabilities. Since then I have honed my digital skills as an online learning developer and a freelance digital designer.
I love working for Grandparent’s Plus because everything I do has a direct impact on kinship carers. Having worked with kinship families in all my charity roles it’s wonderful to be able to focus fully on raising awareness and supporting families through digital innovation.
I am a practicing artist and love to paint, sculpt and make music. I am also an avid collector of vinyl and board games, which helps keep the analogue alive in my life.

My name is Cat and I am the Communications and Admin Assistant at Grandparents Plus; I provide support and assistance to the comms team and other members of staff and keep things ticking over – I love a good spreadsheet!

I previously worked in an arts charity, as well as working as a set stylist and absolutely love to make things. I love origami, DIY, anything yellow, and I go all mushy over cats.
Volunteering Team
Tom Bucher, volunteer officer
“I love being inspired by the commitment, passion and resilience of our volunteers – it really makes my job so fulfilling to work with them on a daily basis!” read Tom’s full bio
I am the volunteer officer, working with our fantastic volunteers that provide Someone Like Me support calls, complete grants applications for carers in need, and run support groups to help kinship communities stay connected.
I love being inspired by the commitment, passion and resilience of our volunteers – it really makes my job so fulfilling to work with them on a daily basis!
Outside of my role, one of my greatest interests is learning new things – I currently run a very nerdy ‘Knowledge Night’, where I meet monthly with 5 friends and each of us presents on a specific area of interest. I’ve got quite a collection of random, generally useless, facts as a result of this experience which I will happily bore you with on request!
