How much time do I need to give?

In order to provide a consistent service to those who need us, our support group facilitator roles need a regular commitment to volunteer regularly. All other volunteer roles may be undertaken flexibly at a time and frequency that is mutually beneficial.

Where will I be based

Our roles are either based in our office in South London (Camberwell) or will be based in your home/local community.

Who can volunteer?

Grandparents Plus welcomes volunteers from all backgrounds and of all abilities.

Someone Like Me, Callback Champions, support group Leaders/Treasurers/Secretary and Grants volunteers must be over 18 but all other roles are available to those under 18.

We welcome and actively encourage volunteers who are or have experience as a kinship carer.

What training and support will I receive?

We will provide you with relevant training for the role as well as a copy of our Volunteer Agreement and relevant policies. You will also have opportunities to attend our events and become a member of our Kinship Care Network if you are a kinship carer.

Will I receive expenses?

All reasonable out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed for travel, food (for four or more continuous hours of volunteering) and any other reasonable costs that occur during the course of your volunteering.

Do I need to provide references and a DBS?

You will not need references or a DBS check to volunteer with us on a one off or occasional basis but we will need two references and a DBS check for many of our roles.
