Kinship Care Week 2018 Area you ready for kinship care week? Kinship Carers Liverpool has celebrated Kinship Care Week for a number of years, and this year we’re joining in too! We want to celebrate the amazing role of kinship carers and raise awareness of kinship care, so from the 6th – 12th October we’ve got a range of things planned to make sure everyone knows how much kinship care matters. On Saturday we’re kicking off with our Celebration Day at four locations across the country. Sunday is Grandparents Day, so we’ll be sharing some stories about some amazing grandparent kinship carers. On Monday we’ll be focusing on the young people who grow up in kinship care. Share your stories of the children you care for. Tuesday will be host to a roundtable with Adfam to discuss the impact of drugs and alcohol on kinship families. We’ll also be celebrating #TogetherTuesday with The Family Holiday Association who understand the importance of getting kinship carers together. On Wednesday we have the launch of a new support group for kinship carers in Redcar. Thursday’s jam packed day includes the engagement event for our new Kinship Connected programme in Gateshead and our first Kinship Connected brunch in Enfield. Plus, Ridley and Hall are getting involved and giving you the chance to access free legal advice. Helen will be online between 8am-4pm answering questions via Facebook Messenger. Throughout the week we'll be sharing photos and stories of kinship carers across the country, and we want to hear from you! Get involved by sharing your story using the hashtag #KinshipCareWeek or posting on our Facebook page. Keep up to date on all the action by following us on social media, let us know what you get up to!
